PIETRAIN cross pigs from J and S Flesher and Son, of Addingham, won the best prime pair award at Gisburn Auction Marts' Christmas show of breeding and store pigs.
They sold for £137 to Twigge, of Grange over Sands.
But the overall championship was won by David Pawson, of Blackburn, with his eight-month-old Pietrain boar, with Dutch bloodlines which achieved first prize in the breeding pig class. It sold for £245 to Shaun Mills, of Todmorden.
J & S Ibbotson, of Oldfield, Keighley, had a successful day winning best pen of store pigs which sold for £62. A pen of five weaners from H Southwell & Son, of Luddendenfoot, Halifax, won the best pen of weaners and sold for £46 to W Taylor and Son, of Bamber Bridge.
