AFTER a day of heavy rain on Saturday, the clouds parted and Bradley enjoyed one of the sunniest family show days in recent years on Sunday.

The show was opened by show queen Imogen Crabtree assisted by her attendants Eliza Doyle and Vivi Braime.

The village Brownies provided colour to the parade dressed as minions whilst the Haworth Home Guard were on hand to make sure they didn’t get up to any mischief.

Numbers were up on previous years as people came out to enjoy the day. Exotic animals from KRescue were a crowd pleaser as was the opportunity to sample circus skills on the field

The earlier rain didn’t help the duck racers who needed to give the plastic racers a bit of a push down the beck.

The fell races, as always, provided a colourful and exciting end to a grand day out.

Among the winners was seven-year-old Georgina Blandford, who was the first local girl in the under nines race on her first foray into a fell racing competition.

Andrew Symonds, one of the event organisers, said: "The warm sunshine really helped to put a smile on people’s faces; it is great when everyone’s hard work pays off with such a wonderful day that can be enjoyed by the whole village."
