A COWLING church has been given a £400 grant towards the purchase of a new boiler.
St Andrew's Methodist Church, on Walton Street, was awarded the money by Cowling Parish Council at its meeting earlier this month.
Council clerk Andrew Mallinson said: "It was approved, not because it's a church facility but that it's also a community facility.
Toddler groups use the building and the parish council meets there.
"It's a physical asset that would benefit the village.
"It was also in their favour that they have put a lot of effort into raising money themselves."
