Fell runner hurt in fall near Whernside summit
A FELL runner fell 12 metres near the summit ridge of Whernside around lunchtime on Saturday.
The 35-year-old man suffered head injuries and was transported off the hill by members of the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation.
He was taken to hospital by a road ambulance as the air ambulance was unable to take-off because of low cloud.
