A COMMUNITY meeting focusing on Earby flood issues will be held in the New Road Community Centre at 6pm tonight.

The meeting will focus an overview of the causes of Boxing Day flooding in Earby, and it will provide individuals with an opportunity to have their first hand knowledge included in a report of the event.

Other issues being discussed at the meeting include gaining an understanding of the different roles of various agencies and considering the way forward and next steps in the future.

Then on Thursday, the first of several drop-in events being held in flood-hit areas across the county will take place in Earby between 3pm and 8pm at the New Road Community Centre.

This event is open to anyone living in Pendle and those with businesses in the borough who have concerns, are seeking advice and want to ask questions about flood recovery and preparing for future flooding.

The event is taking place in Earby as the town had the most flooded properties in Pendle from Storm Eva on Boxing Day.

Agencies attending include Pendle Borough Council, Lancashire Emergency Planning Team, Environment Agency, LCC Trading Standards, LCC Flood Risk Management and Lancashire Fire and Rescue.

Other agencies that could attend include the Flood Advisory Service, National Flood Forum, Integrated Wellbeing Service, Yorkshire Water and an insurance industry representative.
