FARNHILL Parish Council has embarked on a project to spruce-up a village beauty spot.

The wooded area known as the Arbour, off Main Street, is being cleared and planted.

Plans also include keeping the grass at a sensible level, particularly near footpaths, and expanding an area of existing heather.

The council’s intention is to have an area that encourages wildlife, looks attractive and is easy to maintain.

Councillors will next decide what work is needed on steps that form part of the path through the Arbour, and a handrail at the top of the path.
