SKIPTON'S Trinity Methodist Church held its monthly coffee morning - and raised £160 for the Sick Children's Trust which provides "home from home" accommodation for families with children in hospital.

A church family recently benefited hugely when their newborn baby required emergency treatment in Newcastle and the congregation was keen to raise some money to say thank you.

For an hour and a half, the church hall was a buzz of chat and laughter, with locals getting together to enjoy teas and coffees, to pick a bargain at the book and bric-a-brac stalls, or to make Christmas decorations and winter bird feeders to take home.

The next coffee morning is on January 17.
