THESE ladies were members of the laundry staff at Skipton's Raikeswood Hospital in 1968.
The lady in white overalls at the front is the manager, Violet, centre back is Betty Town from Elslack and on her left is Muriel Clarke from Earby.
The picture has been loaned by Barnoldswick woman Janet Cryer (then Needham), who is at the front next to Violet.
She tells us: "I worked there each holiday from the age of 17. It was very hot as most sheets and nightgowns were pressed between giant heated rollers. One summer, the temperature reached 120 degrees Fahrenheit so the kitchen staff sent us an ice cream each to cool us down."
We are getting desperately short of nostalgia pictures for this page. Do you have one we could feature? Pictures should be emailed, with a few details, to news@cravenherald.co.uk or sent to Lindsey Moore, Deputy Editor, Craven Herald, 38 High Street, Skipton, BD23 1JU.
