Sir – With regards to the call for disabled access to be added to Skipton Town Hall (July 18), it seems that Craven District Council needs to get its act together and bring things up to the 21st century.
Disabled people have a right to access it like everyboby else – sorry is not what we want to hear.
On July 24, I went to Craven Museum for an archaeology day, but I could not get up the stairs as the lift was turned off.
However, even if it had been working I could not have used it because it is a stair lift and of no use to wheelchair users.
As I am a disabled wheelchair user with a spinal cord injury, its not possible to get up to the museum.
It seems that CDC doesn’t like helping disabled people, and a building that doesn’t comply with the DDA even though it has been in place for several years.
