Sir – Well, that was quite a weekend, so much so that the inhabitants of Skipton and it's environs look positively shattered. The main topic of conversation across the full demographic has been the lack of sleep and the volume of the music, clearly audible to all of the citizens of this lovely rural market town.
In case you’re wondering, we did not choose to attend the three day Beacons Music Festival, held a stones throw from Skipton and Carleton, whose all pervading loud bass thump echoed from noon to 2.30am the next day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 16-18. I’m a lover of live music but, and this is the crux of the matter, it was excessively loud and went on too late.
Please can it be ensured that whoever granted permission for the excessive performance time and volume, thinks again before next year. A little consideration goes a long way.
Jule Rawlinson. Skipton
