Sir – I spent a good half hour on Sunday wandering up my street at midnight trying to locate a low thumping bass sound.
It had kept me up late on Friday and Saturday and it was really starting to annoy me.
I thought some rowdy new neighbours must have moved in somewhere, but I couldn’t locate the sound.
Fortunately it wasn’t repeated on Monday night, and I finally got a decent night’s sleep.
I’ve since been told it was probably the Beacons Music Festival, held on the outskirts of Skipton.
If this is the case, I find it incredible that Craven District Council allowed it to go ahead.
I think I must live two miles away from this event, so if it was loud enough to keep me awake, I feel sorry for those who live nearby.
I will be writing to the council to make my complaints and I’d strongly advise against them granting it permission again.
I don’t know when it finished, but it was still going on at 1am as I buried my head under the pillow.
Mr J Turner, Skipton
