Sir – I read with interest Julian Smith’s attempts to embarrass Yorkshire Water into paying more tax even though they are not acting illegally.
Forgive me, but I thought that the point of sending Mr Smith to Westminster was to write laws and so he should, by rights, be complaining about the drafting of legislation rather than trying to embarass those who follow the law! He can change the law, Yorkshire Water cannot.
