IN the year that the NHS celebrates it's 75th birthday, I would like to express my deep appreciation for this most precious institution.
In September this year I collapsed breaking bones in my neck and nose, this necessitated emergency and specialist care in hospitals at Airedale, Leeds and Hull. The Settle District Nurse Team, most especially, cared for me at home, whilst I was recovering in a neck brace, their kindness and patience was outstanding.
I am now on the road to recovery, but this is because when I needed it this most precious jewel of Attlee's post-war Labour Government was there.
Thank you NHS and let us hope your brilliance continues to shine for another 75 Years.
