WITH reference to Bob Swallow's letter (What happened to people matter? Craven Herald, January 11) whilst I can sympathise with anybody who does actually use a bank in person, it should be remembered that banks are a business and cannot be expected to keep establishments open when serving a diminishing number of customers.

The real cause of these continuing closures is the increasing use by customers of online banking. As with cuts in bus services, it is a case of 'use or lose'.
