THROUGH the letter’s pages of the Craven Herald, I hope to be able to pass on my sincere thanks and appreciation to the kind van driver, called Ian, who assisted me to return home from near Rylstone on February 14.

I had fallen from my bike cycling back towards Skipton with other members of Skipton Cycling Club. Neither my bike nor I were in a state that would allow a continuation of the ride.

Ian, although travelling in the opposite direction, stopped, turned around and offered to transport me and my bike back to Skipton. This generous action enabled a speedy return home and then onwards to Airedale Hospital without delay.

The only information that I have about this Good Samaritan is his name, that he lived in Linton and that he drove a white van. Many thanks.
