The first lady of Mastab’s Craven League football is quitting her job.

Tina Hirst is standing down as secretary after ten years in the post.

During that time she has been responsible for making sweeping changes to the league’s administration.

Her resignation was reluctantly accepted by the league management commttee.

Mrs Hirst, who lives in Settle, will remain in the role in the short term while the search to find her successor.

League chairman Gerry Aldersley is full of praise for the work she has done.

“Tina has been with the league for ten years and during this time has been instrumental in bringing the league out of the dark ages into the 21st Century, “ he said.

“The league and its clubs now use the Football Association’s Full Time website which takes away all the requirements for manual records. The Craven League owes Tina a huge vote of thanks for the work she has done and the help she has given to all involved.

“The league is searching for applicants for the post which is almost all computer based.”

Applicants must be computer literate and have some history of committee work.
