Worthington's hat-trick Settles title race

 A hat-trick by David Worthington helped Settle United to secure the Mastab’s Craven League Division One title.

They beat second-placed Earby Town 4-2 to ensure that they will finish the season on top of the table.

Player-manager Shaun Airey, a key figure in Settle United’s success, was also a scorer against an Earby side that has now lost its last two matches. Matthew Nutter and Paul Oldroyd were on target for the losers.

Two goals from Dale Denham and one by Neil Mulliner weren’t enough to save Hellifield from a 4-3 home defeat against Chatburn.

Silsden White Star’s recent good run came to an end as they went down 3-2 to Pendle.

Tom McCann and Sam Stanfield were on target for White Star who are the only side to have taken a point from Settle United this season.

Skipton LMS eased into the semi-finals of the Premier Division League Cup with a 2-1 victory over Cononley Sports.

Robert Bingham and Oliver Hurst were on target for LMS who are within sight of a fourth-successive league title.

The mid-table Premier Division clash between Crosshills and Grindleton ended in a 1-1 draw. Andrew North netted the Crosshills goal.

AFC Colne boosted their Division Two championship hopes with a 2-1 win at Bradley.

They are three points ahead of Bingley Town who have one game in hand, while third-placed Skipton Town are six points behind the leaders having played three matches less.

Ingrow & Worth Valley showed no mercy for bottom team Crosshills Reserves as they romped to a 7-3 victory. Chris Wheater led the way with a hat-trick and there were further goals from Eddie Pawson (2), Tom Yeadon and Graham Whitaker.

There was no joy for lowly Earby Town as they went down to a 2-1 defeat against Skipton LMS Reserves. Craig Harrison and John Bunnett netted for the winners.

Division Three champions Grass-ington United Reserves ended their campaign on a winning note as they defeated Settle United Reserves 4-2.

Ben Gannon scored twice and there were further goals from Nicky Wright and Jack Schindler. Samuel Woodrow scored both Settle’s goal.

Simon Harris fired home two penalties and Ben Barraclough also found the net as Broomhill kept alive their promotion hopes from Division Three with a 3-2 win over Sutton.

Thirteen proved to be an unlucky number for Division Four’s bottom team Barnoldswick Barons.

They were thumped 13-0 by table-topping Manningham All Stars who gave their goal difference a boost.

Second-placed Polonia Patson won 5-3 at Horton to maintain their challenge. Lukasz Daildzic, Macilj Gawrydi, Pizemyslaw Witch, Mird-staw Bak and Daniel Trojan were their scorers Shane Dwyer, Ross Greenwood and Riley Handforth were on target for Skipton Town Reserves but could not save them from a 4-3 defeat against Pendle Renegades Reserves.

Addingham edged out Carleton Reserves 2-1 with Joe Bollen and Thomas Cockerham on target.
