WHARFEDALE Foresters' players can give a further indication of their promise tomorrow when the Greens have their first pre-season match at home to Stourbridge (3.00).
With holidays and cricket having an influence on selection, the Dalesmen's coach Jon Feeley has named a mixture of first and second-teamers.
However, he admits: "This is a chance for the Foresters, who have impressed in training, to put their hands up.
"We want the Foresters to be pushing for places in the first team and players from the third team to be pushing for places in the Foresters."
Making his debut on the wing for Wharfedale is winger Matt Van Sertima, who impressed for the Foresters in their 81-7 victory over Fleetwood last Saturday.
Other new boys are Leeds University student Cameron Hudson in the centre and former Otley skipper Simon Willet at lock.
Alex Powell starts in his favoured blind-side flanker spot, while Josh Burridge is at No 8 in place of the temporarily absent Rob Baldwin.
Josh's younger brother Tom is on the bench, alongside Colts scrum half James Otulakowski.
Bradford Salem continue their preparations with a derby at Old Brodleians and are set to include new signing Ryan Smith, formerly of Keighley Cougars and Wibsey Warriors.
Salem also hope to play Conor Wood, who ruptured a tendon in Salem's Skiptens victory.
Wood is the son of former Wakefield, Bradford & Bingley and Yorkshire lock Paul Wood.
