NORTH Ribblesdale skipper Simon Bolland has announced his retirement due to injury.
He revealed his decision in his speech to the Yorkshire One club’s players’ dinner at Grove Park.
Bolland is expected to assist the club in some capacity as they look for better fortunes next season.
The 2015-16 campaign was extremely testing, something club chairman Alan Simpson made reference to.
He pointed out that the heavy injury list had made it a difficult season but he was delighted with the way the young players had come in and served the club well.
David Fox was named as player of the year while Jim Tunney was awarded the young player award.
Young second row William Booth won the Ken Davidson Trophy.
Centre Jonathon Richards won the Aubrey Knights Memorial Award while Chris Marklew was chosen to receive the Danny Simpson Trophy as the outstanding clubman.
