WITH their scratch team already crowned as third division champions, Skipton Golf Club were also crowned Champion Club in the Bradford Union event held at Bracken Ghyll at the weekend.
The team of Rob Nesbitt, Matt Ryder, Darron Parker, Mel Morgan-Davis and Darren Hey finished four points ahead of their nearest rivals in the team stableford event.
Leading the team out was Ryder who scored 35 points and set the tone for a good day for the Skipton outfit.
Parker (36) Morgan-Davis (33) and Hey (35) set the scene for last man out Nesbitt. His total of 40 points ensured they took the title. This is the second time the Skipton club have won this event in the last three years.
Top placings in the August Medal were taken by Danny Pethybridge in Division One with a net 65 and John Chacksfield's net 66 won division two.
