SKIPTON fencer Phoebe Renhard has been selected to compete for Yorkshire in a top competition next month.
The 15-year-old is in the county squad for the prestigious Cadet Winton team competition, held at Millfield School in Somerset on December 17 and 18.
Phoebe took up the sport at Skipton Fencing Club five years ago and now trains for four hours every week.
Phoebe said: “Fencing is a great way to keep fit and I would encourage anyone considering it to give it a go.
“I started competing in small regional competitions after a year of fencing and as time went on I progressed into larger, national competitions and I often travel to London to compete. “Because of this, I have recently been selected to represent Yorkshire in the Cadet Winton team competition, held at Millfield School.”
