IT was back to Winter League action for Settle golfers at the weekend.

The demanding medal format, combined with some slow-lifting fog, proved too difficult for many of the early morning starters who finished up recording nil returns.

However the pairing of Craig Dinsdale and Les Brown both overcame the tricky conditions, Dinsdale returning an extremely impressive level par, and Brown a creditable two over, which included gross bogeys on the second and 14th holes.

Once again the ever-improving Luke Wilcock produced the outstanding round of the day with a four-under-par 66 which included 14 gross pars.

Wilcock has seen his handicap reduced by seven shots over the last eight months and must surely be heading into single figures in the near future.
