DENNIS Holt put together an outstanding round to win Settle's monthly medal.
He shot a gross 80, which included nine pars and one birdie. This was god enough to give him the lowest nett and gross round of the day.
In second place, three shots back, was Peter Wroe. He was delighted with his nett 71.
Both scores were quite exceptional considering how the greens have suffered due to the lack of rain over the past weeks.
Earlier in the week the senior section of the club enjoyed an away day at Carus Green.
In the team competition, it was Holt and Wroe, together with Pete Dransfield and Mike Noble, who proved to be the outstanding combination on the day. All four players making vital contributions over the 18 holes.
