GRASSINGTON Juniors under-16 footballers are celebrating a treble triumph this season.
They won the Craven Aire & Wharfe League’s Under-16 Division A, the league cup and the inaugural; Allan Cawood Memorial Trophy.
Captain Oscar Canny also secured the top scorer award with a record 25 goals. He was eight ahead of his nearest challenger.
In the league they won ten of their 12 matches, drew one and lost one.
They finished five points clear of Keighley Shamrocks in the title race.
Grassington claimed the Allan Cawood Memorial Trophy with a 5-2 win over Cononley Sports in the final at Skipton Town. Their victory was sealed with goals by Oliver White, Oscar Canny, James Stapleton, Lucas Turvill and an own goal.
The man of the match award went to Grassington’s Bradley Gardner.
Victories over Oxenhope (2-1), Oakworth (8-1) and Crossley (6-3) took Jack Schindler’s side to the League Cup final where they beat Silsden for the third successive year.
Grassington won 3-0 with goals from White, Owen Bullock and Canny, who was also named man of the match.
Next season they hope to enter the Harrogate League which will be their next challenge at under-17 level.
