THREE Skipton RFC players, Alex Cruise-Brown, Luther Hall and Joe Hayes, attended the final trial for the Yorkshire Under 17's squad at the weekend.
And Hayes made it through and is selected for the squad to play Lancashire Under 17's this Sunday, May 15, at Wigan.
He has also had a successful season with Ermysted's Grammar School, Skipton, getting through to the semi-final of the Yorkshire Schools Cup, where he was a try scorer in the 22-5 defeat by the eventual cup winners, Harrogate. Hayes plays anywhere across the front or back row but mostly at No. 8 for Skipton RFC.
All three trialists were part of the Skipton Squad which took the Yorkshire Under 16's Cup against Cleckheaton on Sunday April 24, with Hayes scoring Skipton's opening try and Hall their second.
The latter will be eager to make his mark once again at Wigan on Sunday.
