RIDDLESDEN and Haworth both notched emphatic victories to keep the pressure on leaders Cowling in Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One.

Haworth made the right call to send Denholme in at West Lane and dismissed them for 105, with the in-form Neil Rollins taking 6-34.

Liaqat Ali (26), keeper Adam Khan (18) and Richard Taylor (14) were the only players to reach double figures, but it was a different proposition when Haworth batted, captain Jamie Rowell leading them to an eight-wicket victory inside 19 overs with 59 not out off 55 balls, including 10 fours and a six.

Stuart Jackson (24no) kept him company.

Riddlesden won the toss at Haworth Road Meths and made 210, with significant contributions from Ehsan Khan (49) and Saquib Hussain (60).

Meths, despite a defiant last-wicket stand, only totalled 111 as they struggled to cope with Mohammed Zulfiqar (5-46) and Mohammad Ishtiaq (3-22).

Cowling remain top by nine points from both Haworth and Riddlesden, but the latter have only played five games compared to the other duo’s six.

The Keighley Road side were sent in by visitors Sutton in their derby and racked up 260-8, buoyed by an opening stand of 125 by keeper Rahman Ali (76) and Wasim Hussain (29).
