BARNOLDSWICK Town moved up to 6th in the NWCFL Premier Division after claiming a strong 3-1 victory at Litherland Remyca on Saturday.

A Gareth Hill brace followed by a George Chmiel strike resulted in the visitors taking all three points back to Lancashire, and the win has put Barlick in a strong position in the league with game in hands still to play on four of the five teams ahead of them.

It didn’t take long for Barlick to go ahead, as Hill tapped home after Litherland’s goalkeeper had pushed a Chmiel shot into his path.

‘Remy’ deservedly levelled only ten minutes later (19), with the hosts quickly growing into the fixture after falling behind.

Hammill beat his man before curling a fantastic delivery to the back post, where Monthe was waiting at the back post to fire the ball across to Cal Hunter who tapped home.

With nine minutes remaining of the first half Hill found his second. A delicious through ball from Andrew Hill teed up Gareth Hill to volley a first-time effort at the home side’s goal, but after a great initial save from Reynolds, Hill followed in for his second goal of the game.

On minute 81 the game was wrapped up for Barlick, as Chmiel unleashed a fizzing strike from 20-yards out to find the bottom corner.

Up next for Town is a home fixture against Prestwich Heys this evening.
