Silsden have a bit of catching up to do now, after having a second game in three days postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Their Northern Counties East League Premier Division game at home to Handsworth over the weekend fell by the wayside due to the poor weather, and the same fate befell their NCEL League Cup second round tie at Tadcaster Albion last night.

Both of those games will have to be rearranged, though neither have been given a new date as yet.

For now, Silsden’s focus turns to this Saturday, and a huge league game at Bradford District rivals Albion Sports.

The pair faced off on the opening day of the season, with Albion winning 2-1 at the Office Interiors Stadium.

But the visitors that day were later found to have inadvertently fielded an ineligible player, meaning they were docked three points.

Sports are currently in the thick of the title race, so that came as a blow to them, but Silsden are fighting hard for promotion themselves.

The Cobbydalers currently sit eighth, just three points off the top five and the play-off places in the division.
