Silsden were in FA Vase third round action on Saturday, beating Newcastle University 4-2 to reach the last-32 of the competition for the first time in their history.
The game was switched to West Yorkshire after the designated hosts had had to call the game off twice due to bad weather damaging their pitch.
The Cobbydalers made the most of their unexpected home advantage, Jake Cassidy, Ellis Hudson, Kayle Price and Isaac Baldwin all scoring in a 4-2 win.
Cassidy headed Silsden in front after only nine minutes, before Hudson netted from the spot just before the break to double his side’s advantage.
But a sloppy error at the back at the start of the second half allowed Newcastle to halve the deficit.
Silsden calmed any nerves that may have caused quickly, when the prolific Price netted their third goal on 54 minutes.
A good save from Kyle Trenerry stopped Newcastle from responding immediately, but otherwise it was the opposition keeper keeping his side in the game.
Silsden wrapped up victory with four minutes to go thanks to Baldwin, with Newcastle scoring a consolation second just before the final whistle.
That victory puts Silsden into the fourth round of the competition for the first time ever, where they will visit NCEL rivals Hallam on Saturday, January 13.
