SILSDEN have endured a frustrating week or so, with their cup fixture tonight postponed, straight off the back of their league game last Saturday also being called off.

They were superb in their last match, which was away to Northern Counties East League Premier Division leaders Campion on Boxing Day, drawing 1-1 in a game they would have won were if not for a last-gasp equaliser from their hosts and Bradford District rivals.

The Cobbydalers were set to host Tadcaster Albion in a league game last weekend, but bad weather meant they failed a Saturday morning pitch inspection.

The pair were not the only sides rained off though, as only three games in the whole division went ahead.

Silsden were due to face Tadcaster once again in midweek, with the pair having a NCEL League Cup second round tie pencilled in for tonight.

Unlike on Saturday, that game was due to be held in Tadcaster, at their So-Trak LTD Stadium.

But Taddy’s pitch notoriously struggles with flooding problems when faced with severe rainfall, and that is sadly the case again.

Albion confirmed the bad news about the game being off this morning, and a new date will have to be confirmed for that cup clash in due course.

Silsden will be desperate to return to action this Saturday, knowing they could move back into the play-off places in the NCEL Premier Division with a win at struggling Pickering Town.
