Steeton missed a golden chance to return to the top of the Division One table as they slipped to a 38-run defeat at Follifoot.

Third-from-bottom Bilton completed the double over leaders Collingham with a 33-run triumph but the Summ- erhill Laners could not take advantage at the North Yorkshire side in what was their first league loss of the season.

Opener James Ford anchored the hosts’ innings as they made 210-8. Stephen Pearson was chief wicket-taker for Steeton with 4-54, while Gary Boulton weighed in with 2-40.

The visitors lost wickets at regular intervals in reply and, despite 39 from opener Craig Walton and 54 not out from Mark Taylor, they fell short on 172 all out.

Greg Lambert (3-37) and David Wright (3-38) did the damage.

Beckwithshaw eased past Ben Rhydding by four wickets to go level on points with Steeton, just two points behind Collingham. Upper Wharfedale ’s struggles continue in Division Two. They are six points from safety after losing by six wickets to leaders Rawdon.

Joe Loorham (86no) was the star as Rawdon eased past the Upper Wharfedale total of 154-8.

Andrew Smith made a battling 54 for Upper Wharfedale who face a crucial match against Calverley – one place above them in the table – on Saturday.

Skipton ’s rearguard action against Division Three promotion chasers Tong Park/Esholt earned them a point in their bid to keep ahead of Alwoodley at the foot of the table.

Darren Wilson (80) and Gareth Wilkinson (55) helped Tong Park/Esholt to a score of 216-5 .

Rob Walker (33) and Luke Facey (29) helped Skipton to cling on for a draw at 112-8.

In Division Three, Mark Scaife (6-27) and Ally Walshaw (3-45) dismissed Silsden for 141 before Walshaw (40) and Peter Kempton (47) secured Hall Park’s victory to keep them in the promotion hunt. Addingham beat Wood-house by 15 runs to secure a second-successive win. Will Atkins (44) top scored in their 198 and Joe Midgley, Jonny Johnson and Rory Stead each picked up three wickets to seal the win
