Barnoldswick Town 2 Hanley Town 1

BARNOLDSWICK Town scored twice in the final ten minutes as they extended their unbeaten run to eight games at the Silentnight Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from substitutes Mark Threlfall and Andrew Hill turned the game around just when it looked as if the visitors would walk away with the Hallmark Security League Premier Division points thanks to Joshua Thorpe's 65th minute.

The central defender escaped the attentions of the home defence as he climbed to head a quickly-take free kick.

Just as they had done at West Didsbury & Chorlton last Tuesday when they came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3, Barlick didn't panic.

They continued to play their football and started to put Hanley under increasing pressure.

Manager Danny Craig decided to increase his attacking options by introducing substitutes Threlfall and Hill.

It was striker Threlfall who levelled the scores in the 81st minute when he climbed his to head home after a good run and cross by Zack Dale.

Hill had tried a number of long shot which had been blocked by defenders before he netted the winner.

The midfieldman picked up the ball on the edge of the box and curled his shot into the top corner in the 88th minute.
