SILSDEN are hoping the return of Chris Meehan as new captain will spell better fortunes for the club next season.
The Aire-Wharfe League side finished bottom of Division Three last campaign after failing to win a game all season.
But the Cobbydalers are optimistic the return of the all-rounder, who came through the junior ranks and and captained the side before going abroad to work, can get them on the up again.
Meehan is currently playing rugby union for Bradford Salem, having previously played for Keighley and Wharfedale.
Silsden are also hopeful that prolific batsman Majid Inyat can commit to a full season, having missed spells due to work last summer.
They also intend to acquire an overseas player, along with blooding some of their homegrown youngsters.
Chairman Tim Sugden said: "After a difficult season, we are hoping the appointment of Chris can bring new life and help us turn the corner."
Any players interested in joining Silsden next season can contact Meehan on 07504-900393.
