LEAGUE champions Cross Hills A must have wondered what hit them when they travelled to Sutton Park on Tuesday evening for their Walker Foster Division One match.
Sutton A are a useful home side and they proved it with a stunning 11-1 win. Skipper David Cadwallader was on top form and led the way with a 21-14 win over Phillip Dowgill.
Their away form is less impressive and they lost 9-3 at Gargrave A.
League leaders Cononley A moved 12 points clear of Cross Hills A after an 11-1 home win over Colne Legion A.
Colne Cricket Club’s 100 per cent home record was shattered as Keighley A pulled off an impressive 9-3 win
Trevor Hargreaves had a 21-18 win over the previously unbeaten John Whitaker. Keighley A also won at home 10-2 against Lund Park A to move them into joint third place with Silsden, who won 7-5 at home to Devon A and 9-3 at Lund Park A, and Colne Cricket Club.
Cross Hills B have a 12-point lead in the
Andrew Town Joinery Division Two. A 9-3 win over Whinfield A was tempered by an 8-4 loss at Colne Legion A.
Steeton A retained second place after an 8-4 win at Addingham A.
Colne Legion B moved up a place into third after wins at Gargrave B 9-3 and home to Cross Hills B.
Rolls Royce are fourth after victories at Whinfield B 8-4, then at home to Gargrave B 9-3.
Cononley B followed a 10-2 home win against Silsden PF B, with a 12-0 defeat at Whinfield A to leave them in fifth place. The division remains tightly contested with just 14 points separating second-placed Steeton A and Whinfield A in eighth place.
All the teams have games in hand on leaders Cross Hills B.
Sutton B continue to dominate the Skipton Building Society Division Three. They picked up 19 points in two games to give them a 12-point advantage over Grassington.
Both teams had good wins, Sutton B won 9-1 at Whinfield C and 10-0 at home to Gargrave C, while Grassington won 7-3 at Broughton Road B and 9-1 at home to Steeton C.
Settle B are a further 12 points back. They followed a 7-3 defeat at Steeton C with a 10-0 home win over Whinfield C.
The Hargreaves Ltd Summer Doubles will be played on Sunday, July 12 and a good entry is required if the organisers are going to stop the cancellation of competitions.
Entries must be in by Saturday.
The Inter District Veterans re-arranged match with Halifax will take place at Sutton tomorrow with a 1.30pm start.
