THE Knowles Bowl Final at Skipton Golf Club continued the trend of those taking an early lead going on to win.

It was promising young golfer Max Berrisford who took the opening two holes and despite Brian Kuhl taking the third, that was as close as he would get.

The match really swung Berrisford’s way from the eighth hole onwards. Playing some exemplary golf he won the ninth and 11th with birdies to be five up. He eventually won the the match 6&5 on the 13th.

In the final medal of the year, Mark Fearnley took top honours in Division One with a nett 66, one ahead of Brook Coward.

The Division Two winner was Neil Robinson with a nett 70 again, again just one ahead of second-placed Chris Jones.

John Chacksfield’s net 72 was enough to give him the Centenary Salver.
