HARLEY Rushton secured three victories, set a new lap record and increased is lead in the Classic Racing Motorcycle Clubs 320cc Championships in the latest round at Croft.

The 21-year-old clearly enjoyed himself at his home track and he set the tone for a great weekend when winning race one on his 350cc Craven Honda and setting a new lap record.

The second 350 race of the day saw Rushton again take the victory ahead of Alan Oversby who had also finished second in the opening race.

Glorious blue skies met the riders for the final 350 race on the second day. Oversby got a good start but Rushton cut the second corner tight and powered past to take the lead.

After pulling a gap over Oversby, he again lowered the lap record, taking another second off the time set in 2016.

Unfortunately, Oversby crashed heavily after a run in with a back marker leaving Harley to take his third win of the weekend.

On the 500 Craven Manx Norton, Rushton took fouth place in race one while scrubbing a tyre in.

In race two he was chasing the leader and managed to finish a creditable second, half a second behind the race winner.

In the final 500cc race of the weekend, Rushton was lying third until a gearbox problem caused him to retire. The final race of the weekend was the Peter William's trophy race and Rushton qualified eighth for this aboard his 500 Manx Norton.

After a last-minute change of bike after Rushton’s Norton had broken and a race-long battle with his team mate Mike Cooper, Harley managed to secure an eighth place finish against a grid of much more powerful bikes.
