Former Settle College student Jack Walker is set to become the youngest Leeds Carnegie forward to start a game after being named in James Lowes’ side to face Gala in the British and Irish Cup tomorrow at York (2.30pm).
The 17-year-old hooker, who is the younger brother of first-team regular Chris, will surpass England international Calum Clark, who was almost a year older when he made his debut in 2007.
Jack made his first start for the club off the bench last week in the narrow loss at Bristol to become the youngest forward to appear for the club at 17 years and 160 days.
Head coach Lowes has made ten changes to the side that lost 21-17 at Bristol last week, with only locks Nathan Hannay and Matt Smith retaining their places.
In the backline, Stevie McColl replaces Christian Georgiou at full back, Fred Burdon comes in for Joe Barker, David Doherty replaces Oli Goss and Craig Hampson starts at scrum half for James Doherty.
